Maintaining your Drever

puppy Lupiini

As a breed that has been kept as a working dog for generations, these animals have an amount of energy opposite to their size. This energy must be used up regularly in long walks, otherwise the dogs will find ways of using it up, often in ways the owner may not find amusing. However, it is necessary to be cautious when letting these dogs loose in open spaces, as their instincts can make them start following a scent, ignoring everything else.

Apart from this precaution, the Drever is easy to keep and live with, and its coat does not require any particular care, apart from an occasional brushing.
